1960's

Following the lead of London
designers,
the 60's was a decade of startling results. Clothing in general
became
more casual. Pants became increasingly popular for women and
young
men wore suits less frequently. The Sixties were a time of great
difference in clothing styles. From the well tailored Chanel
suits
Jackie Kennedy helped to popularize to the shabby style of the Rolling
Stones, clothing of the decade was diverse and interesting. The
"Swinging
Sixties" were a time of bright colors and loud music. The
introduction
of the mini-skirt in 1965 sent ripples throughout the clothing
world.
Toward the late 60's, "hippie" and "flower child" fashions became more
popular. Psychedelic colors and butterfly collars were the
precursors
to the wild and often shocking fashions to come.
