1930's

Hit hard by the Depression,
clothes
lost the playfulness of the Twenties. Morals were reined in and
women's
clothes became more mannish. Suits became more popular for day
wear
and evening gowns were sleek and more form fitting than ever
before.
In men's apparel, suits were very similar to today's styles.
Commonly
plaid and pinstriped, suits sported wide lapels and double breasted
suits
rose in popularity. For men, fedoras were most common and women
wore
turbans and other close fitting hats. Both evening and day, the
rule
for dressing was less is more. Saving fabric meant saving money
and
saving money was the name of the game. Costumes By Dusty stock
stays
true to the originals while maintaining a high quality in fabric choice
and design, any foray into Thirties dressing should begin here.
